Introduction: Forresta Cafe in Villar City

Many TikTok videos are saying this restaurant isn’t good and is too expensive. But, I recommend you read this article for a full review of the food, the place, and the prices.

Welcome to Forresta Cafe in Villary City, the perfect hangout spot serving coffee and delicious meals since December 2023. Whether you’re meeting up with friends for a chat or need a peaceful spot to get some work done, Forresta Cafe is the place to be.

FORRESTA CAFE BY COFFEE PROJECT

Coffee Project as most of you already know is owned by business tycoon Sen. Manny Villar. This café, too, belongs to the Villar Family from the Brittany group.

From what I’ve seen around Villar City, it seems to be the only café in the area for now. This café sits smack dab in the middle of the south area, making it easy to get to from Villar City, especially if you’re coming from Dasmarinas, Alabang, Muntinlupa, or San Pedro, Laguna.

Ambiance: Modern. Sleek. Cozy.

This café has a sleek, modern design with lots of glass, including a glass roof and walls that give it a bright, airy feel. The glass walls are tinted to keep it cool inside, and they have blinds to block out the sun on hot days, so you can still enjoy your meal in comfort thanks to the air conditioning.

There are two entrances to the café – one facing the driveway with a large wooden door that may look heavy but is actually easy to open, and the other facing the parking area with a glass door. Near these entrances, you’ll find lush bushes and pine trees, creating a peaceful and breezy atmosphere around the café.

COZY & SPACIOUS INTERIOR

As soon as you step into Forresta Cafe Villar City, you’ll be greeted by a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The rustic decor and comfortable seating arrangements create a cozy environment perfect for enjoying a cup of freshly brewed coffee or a hearty meal. The soft lighting and soothing background music add to the overall charm, making it an ideal place to unwind after a long day.

This restaurant has different levels: there’s a roof deck, some seating on balconies, and a dining area a few flights of stairs down. As you explore, you’ll notice more dining seats tucked around corners. From the outside, it might seem small, but once you step in, you’ll see that the entire restaurant is actually quite spacious.

One standout feature is the accent wall adorned with a vertical garden made of large treated tree trunks. It adds a natural touch to the ambiance. Additionally, their dining tables have a rustic feel, appearing to be custom-made from trees sourced locally in Villar City.

On the right side of the main area, you’ll find the salad corner, coffee station, and pizza oven. If you’re curious about how your coffee or pizzas are made, you can take a peek and watch the process unfold.

Whether you’re catching up with friends over brunch or enjoying a quiet moment alone with a book, Forresta Cafe Villar City offers the perfect setting for any occasion. The friendly staff members are always ready to greet you with a smile and ensure that you have a memorable dining experience.

Forresta Cafe Menu: What can you order?

The Forresta Cafe menu is a perfect mix of classic favorites and innovative dishes, catering to all tastes and preferences. From hearty breakfast options to savory lunch specials, pizza and pasta, there’s something for everyone on the menu.

This restaurant has a variety of cuisines like American, Italian, Korean, and Filipino dishes.

GENIUS STRATEGY!

I thought their menu was pretty interesting. When I first went to this restaurant, I noticed something different, but I’m not sure if that’s why they did it.

You see, when we tried to order, there were no pictures on the menu. Instead, they just described the ingredients or how the food was cooked. It reminded me of other fancy restaurants.

So as we were ordering, we were picturing how the food would look. Since a lot of their dishes are classics, we already had an idea in our heads. But when our food arrived, we were pleasantly surprised. The presentation and serving were much better than what we imagined.

It got me thinking, maybe some restaurants don’t put pictures so customers can be surprised. With pictures, people might expect their food to look exactly like the pictures. But without them, there’s a sense of excitement and surprise when the food comes out.

Price: Budget-friendly or RICH-friendly?

Honestly, their food and coffee are on the pricey side. Picture this: a cup of coffee sets you back around 300 to 400 pesos, and their beef tapa goes for about 600 pesos. That’s definitely steeper than what you’d find at other places.

AVERAGING TO P1000 PER PERSON

When it comes to bang for your buck, I’d say it’s a bit expensive, but they do give you a hefty portion. So, in a way, you’re getting your money’s worth. They also use some unusual ingredients, which adds a unique touch. But overall, I’d suggest popping into this cafe every once in a while, not making it a regular haunt, unless you’re okay with your wallet feeling a bit lighter.

Taste of Food: Yay or Nay?

We’ve been to this place about six times now because it’s right on our way from Laguna to Dasmariñas. We’ve pretty much tried everything on their menu.

Their food is different, but not like super fancy or anything. They put a little twist on each regular dish, which makes it taste unique. So, it’s not the same old stuff you’d get at other places.

Very "EXPERIMENTAL"

I guess you could say their food is kind of experimental. Some dishes turn out really good, but others seem like they’ve been messed with a bit too much.

I had their salad, and it was pretty tasty, except for some raw/smoked meat pieces in it. Also, I tried their smoked salmon Tartines, but they seemed undercooked to me, almost raw. But hey, maybe it’s just my taste, and I’m being picky about it.

Conclusion: Do we recommend Forresta Cafe?

SOME THINGS FELT OFF…

After pointing out some good things in my review, I noticed a couple of things Forresta Cafe could improve on.

INCONSISTENT SERVING SIZE

We noticed that their serving sizes aren’t always the same. We’ve ordered their tapa, tocino brulee, and hot mocha several times. But sometimes, the tapa is big, sometimes small. The tocino is sometimes cut thin, sometimes thick. And the hot mocha? Well, sometimes it comes with whipped cream, sometimes not. It’s a bit hit or miss, you know?

NO SWEETS, CAKES, DESSERTS

You know, for a café, it felt like something was missing. They had everything from breakfast to lunch, even steaks, but no desserts, cakes, or sweets. That’s a bummer, especially since Filipino coffee lovers usually pair their coffee with something sweet.

📣 UPDATE: In March 2024, Forresta Cafe introduced new desserts and sweets to their menu, including Brownie Skillet and Cookie Ala Mode.

12nn: PIZZA AND SANDWICHES

So, before 12nn, you’re stuck with just coffee and all-day breakfast. But once the clock strikes 12, you can dive into their pizza and sandwiches.

2 PM LUNCH

Now, if you’re craving steaks or want more options, I’d suggest coming after 2 PM. We were pretty hungry around noon, but the menu was limited to pizza, pasta, sandwiches, and all-day breakfast.

📣 UPDATE: Because of popular demand, Forresta Cafe now offers most of their menu items all day long, including their main courses such as steaks and pastas. However, pizzas are an exception as their pizza chef doesn’t arrive until 10 am, meaning you can only savor this specialty from 12 noon onwards.

Would I recommend Forresta Cafe? Yeah, I would.

The food hits the spot and leaves you satisfied, plus the atmosphere is just right. Yeah, the coffee might set you back a bit, but trust me, the vibe makes up for it. Honestly, it’s the kind of place where you can kick back and take it easy. You’ll get it once you swing by—it’s hands down one of the most comfortable cafes in town. Ideal for unwinding and leaving the day’s worries behind.
