Our First Impression
We arrived at Balai Palmera on a peaceful Friday morning, around 8 am, with the intention of enjoying some light dishes since we weren’t planning for a hearty meal so early.
Before our visit, we didn’t have much information about this restaurant as it didn’t seem to be widely known online. I had simply done a quick search for restaurants in Silang that day. However, we easily located it, just a bit ahead of Balai Mario, a place we were familiar with for driving. So, we decided to give it a try.
Upon arrival, we were greeted by a spacious parking area. From there, we stepped through their sizable entrance, where we were met with a large menu stand and their friendly staff. At that early hour, there was only one other guest seated before us.
Initially, I had some reservations, wondering if this was a lesser-known restaurant. However, our curiosity got the best of us, and we were eager to find out more.
Once we were seated, it became evident that the entire restaurant exuded the ambiance of a “spacious rich Filipino house” from the early 1960s. The overall atmosphere felt quite refreshing, and the music playing in the background consisted of classic Filipino folk songs, adding to the nostalgic vibe.

Menu Price: Is it affordable to dine at Balai Palmera?
Balai Palmera understands the importance of offering good food at reasonable prices. The menu prices are quite reasonable for the quality and portions they provide. This makes it an excellent option for both locals and visitors looking for an authentic Silang dining experience without breaking the bank.
We didn’t know what to expect when we looked at the restaurant’s menu, but we were pleasantly surprised to find that the prices were quite reasonable. I was a little concerned that the affordability might mean small portions.
However, it’s safe to say that you’ll definitely get your money’s worth because the servings are generous. Take, for example, their Pancit Canton priced at P350; it’s more than enough for 2 to 3 people. Considering how budget-friendly their dishes are, it’s a bonus that they come in such hearty portions. Most of their dishes fall within the range of P200 to P500 per serving on average.

Taste of Food: Authentic Filipino Flavors
Every dish we ordered was incredibly flavorful. Each bite was satisfying, and we didn’t find a single dish to be bland.
To be honest, their food isn’t about putting a unique twist on Filipino dishes like Neil’s Kitchen does. Here, you get the classic Filipino flavors just as they are, but they are exceptionally delicious. Balai Palmera proves that they don’t need to change the classic recipes to make them taste great.
When it comes to taste, Balai Palmera Silang knows how to deliver. Their dishes are a symphony of flavors, perfectly capturing the essence of Filipino cuisine. Each bite tells a story of tradition and passion, as the chefs carefully craft every dish to ensure a memorable dining experience. Whether you’re savoring a local ingredient specialty or indulging in a classic favorite, the taste of the food speaks volumes about the restaurant’s dedication to culinary excellence.

Ube Buko Pie & Other Pasalubong
After enjoying a meal in their main restaurant, we visited their pasalubong section, where they offer various treats. The whole area is impressively neat and well-arranged. The shelves neatly display their products.
On the left side of the store, you can watch their staff as they prepare boxes of Buco pies, and this area is equally spotless. The staff members and their uniforms also appear very clean. I must applaud Balai Palmera for their commitment to cleanliness, a significant advantage for customers like me.
The Ube Buko Pie isn’t just a dessert; it’s a piece of Silang’s culinary identity. The restaurant’s commitment to authenticity extends to its pasalubong offerings, allowing visitors to take home a piece of the experience. The Ube Buko Pie, along with other pasalubong options, makes for a perfect gift or a delightful treat to enjoy even after leaving the restaurant.
