The Roadhouse Manila Bay

Situated along the shores of Manila Bay, located at SM by the Bay (near MOA Eye), Roadhouse Manila Bay stands as a prominent dining destination in Pasay. With its prime location and inviting atmosphere, this Manila Bay restaurant has carved a niche for itself as a go-to spot for locals and visitors alike.

Boasting a diverse menu, live music, and a captivating ambiance, Roadhouse Manila Bay offers a delightful experience that captures the essence of Manila Bay dining.

Live Music: Rock vibes that elevate!

Adding to its charm, Roadhouse Manila Bay’s live music nights infuse the Manila Bay nightlife with energy and excitement. The soothing melodies and vibrant beats create a lively ambiance that perfectly complements the dining experience. As the sun sets over Manila Bay, the tunes from local artists and bands provide a fantastic backdrop to your meal, making your time at Roadhouse truly unforgettable.

MUSIC IS TOO LOUD

Because we’re seated close to the band, it’s tough to have a proper conversation. Instead of reconnecting with old friends we haven’t seen in years, we find ourselves straining to hear over the music. The stage setup is meant to be acoustic on the night we visited. Despite that, having a conversation is a challenge. It’s only during breaks between the band’s sets that we manage to hear each other clearly.

This kind of situation seems familiar, even from karaoke nights. If your main goal is to enjoy the live band playing classics and other tunes, then this bar would suit you. Perhaps if we were seated farther from the band or chose an outdoor spot, it might be less noisy and offer a better chance for catching up.

Restaurant Menu: What can you order?

The heart of Roadhouse Manila Bay lies in its carefully crafted menu that caters to a wide range of tastes offering a variety of options to satisfy different cravings. The extensive selection ensures that there’s something for everyone, making it an ideal choice for groups with diverse preferences. Whether you’re a fan of hearty burgers, pizza or crave the fresh flavors of seafood, the Roadhouse menu has it covered.

As we’re here to unwind and enjoy drinks with friends, we opted for finger foods and classic “pulutan” choices such as crispy pata, pizza, and quesadilla. Alongside, we got buckets of drinks, including refreshing mojitos.

Food Taste: A Flavorful Delight

When it comes to taste, Roadhouse Manila Bay doesn’t disappoint. The flavors are a testament to the restaurant’s dedication to offering a memorable culinary journey. Each dish is thoughtfully prepared, ensuring that the ingredients shine through.

Their finger foods perfectly complement the drinks, especially with beer. The flavors are delightful without being overpowering, making them an ideal “pulutan” choice for a chill, rock n’ roll evening.

Ambiance: Unique concept

As someone who grew up in the 90s, raised in a family that adores rock music and timeless tunes, this place feels like a slice of heaven for me. It’s a nostalgic journey that speaks to my soul. Everywhere you turn, the spirit of rock ‘n’ roll resonates. I think this is what makes them unique compared to other Manila Bay seaside bars.

The walls are adorned with cherished mementos and posters of legendary bands like Led Zeppelin, the Beatles, and AC/DC. Electric guitars find their home, mounted proudly on brick walls, adding to the atmosphere.

Helmets and motorcycle memorabilia also find their place, adding a touch of rugged authenticity. The entire setup and vibe of the bar give me the impression that the owner shares the same passion for rock music and motorcycles, making it all the more special.

Service: Good, but...

We reached the place a bit late, maybe around 10 pm. Some of our friends had already made it there by 8 or 9 pm, enjoying the live music and their drinks. It was around 11 pm when we decided to order more, as the staff informed us that they would be closing at 1 am. They mentioned it was the last chance to place orders before they stopped serving.

Just past 12 midnight, the band wrapped up their final song, and the staff asked us to finish our drinks since they were closing. We were under the impression that we could enjoy our drinks until 1 am, as they had initially said, but it seemed we misunderstood.

Since we had anticipated leaving at 1 am, we still had one bucket of drinks left that we had planned to finish before the closure. However, we were informed that we could either finish our drinks on the spot or take the bottles with us for a fee of P20 per bottle. To make the most of it, we chose to pour our drinks into cups and take them with us so that nothing would go to waste.

Cleanliness: Clean, but…

The entire place has a clean rock n’ roll vibe. The staff ensures that the countertops stay tidy. However, I did notice that the restroom isn’t as good as I expected it to be, considering the overall organization of the place.

Regrettably, the toilet has a broken flush, which can be quite inconvenient. To be fair, this seems to be a common issue in many bars, with toilets not flushing properly. Nevertheless, I wish their restroom was cleaner. In this aspect, I must give credit to Filling Station Bar for maintaining a clean and functional restroom even though they are open 24/7.

In general, Roadhouse Manila Bay Bar, stands as a standout Manila Bay restaurant that offers a comprehensive package of great food, live music, and a captivating ambiance. The Roadhouse menu presents a wide array of options to cater to different tastes, while the live music nights enhance the Manila Bay nightlife scene. With its inviting ambiance, delectable flavors, and top-notch service, Roadhouse Manila Bay provides a memorable dining experience that captures the essence of Manila Bay’s charm.
